Floyd County Court Docket Basics

How to Find Floyd County Dockets Online
Use Indiana MyCase for Floyd County docket lookup. The Floyd County Judicial Branch page links to the same search system, and all active Floyd trial courts use Odyssey/MyCase. Search by case number when possible. If the case number is unknown, search by party, business, attorney, court, case type, status, and filing date. Indiana Administrative Rule 9 controls remote access to docket and calendar data. Rule 5 still excludes sealed data, juvenile records, mental-health records, protected identifiers, and other restricted material from the public version.

Traffic Court is held in Superior Court 2, Room 425, each Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. except holidays. Small claims and evictions are filed in the Clerk's Office, with initial filings heard by the Magistrate and proceedings supplemental heard in Superior Court 2. Local rules also route some military-history, problem-solving-court, commercial, traffic, juvenile, adoption, probate, and expungement matters to specific courts.
Floyd County Dockets vs Records
A Floyd County court docket is not a certified case file. It is best used to track case activity, hearing dates, filings, orders, and status. A full court record may include the complaint, petition, information, motion, judgment, sentencing order, exhibit, or certified copy. Some documents are online. Many are not. Older files may be scanned, stored, or microfilmed through the clerk's records-management process.

Federal Dockets Near Floyd County
Federal cases are separate from Floyd County court dockets. A New Albany federal criminal, civil, bankruptcy, or appellate matter will not be searched in Indiana MyCase as a county trial-court case. Reading Floyd County Docket Updates
Read docket entries in date order, then check whether the case has a future hearing, recent order, or disposition. A motion is only a request. An order is the court's decision or direction. A judgment is a final decision in many civil cases. In criminal matters, the docket may show charges, initial hearing, bond, plea, sentencing, or probation entries, but the charge record and full criminal case file should be read together.
Older records can look sparse because Floyd courts moved into Odyssey/MyCase in 2009 and some entries were converted from earlier systems. The Floyd Clerk's records page points to scanned and microfilmed court files, so older docket entries may need staff retrieval. For court dates after arrest, Sheriff Steve Bush's Floyd County Sheriff's Department resources direct users to MyCase, and newly arrested people are reported to attend court the next business day. Those entries can change, so urgent appearances should be confirmed through official court channels.
