Floyd County Traffic Court
Floyd County Traffic Court is held each Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., except holidays, in Superior Court 2 on the fourth floor of the City/County Building, Room 425. The court handles traffic violations and related local matters such as hunting and fishing violations, littering, animal control, and other tickets listed by the Clerk. If the person cannot appear at the date and time shown on the ticket, the Clerk directs them to contact the court at 812-948-5413.

Search Floyd County Traffic Court Records
Floyd County traffic court records can be checked through Indiana court systems and clerk channels. ePay is used for eligible traffic tickets and court payments, while MyCase can show the public court case if the ticket has been filed into the court system. A very new ticket may not appear right away because the ticket must be turned in by the officer first.

Floyd County Traffic Appearance Rules
Not every Floyd County ticket is payable with a fine. The Clerk lists required court appearance violations, and some are serious enough to move into a criminal-record context. These include DUI, reckless driving, driving while suspended, no valid license, no financial responsibility, and several high-speed or accident-related violations.

Floyd County Traffic Fees
Floyd County publishes a detailed traffic-fee schedule. Some amounts differ between state infractions and New Albany ordinance tickets. The 31+ mph speeding category is not payable with a fine, which means a court appearance path is required. Worksite amounts can add a separate charge when the listed speed falls within the payable range.

Floyd County Traffic Deferral
The Floyd County Prosecutor infraction deferral program is a six-month program reviewed case by case. The defendant must appear at the assigned court date. The fee is $192.50 instead of the ticket amount, and payment instructions are mailed after eligibility is decided. The local instructions say not to bring money to court for that purpose.
Qualifications include no tickets in any United States jurisdiction for the previous two years, no criminal history, no CDL, and offense-specific review. CDL holders cannot receive diversion or deferral by Indiana law. That CDL limit is important because it affects both the court record and later driver-record consequences.

Traffic Court vs Driver Record
The county court record and the BMV driver record are separate files. The Floyd County traffic court record is the citation case file. It shows the charge, court date, fine or costs, disposition, and payment activity. BMV Driver Record Access
Indiana BMV offers a Viewable Driver Record free of charge and an Official Driver Record certified for $4. Express login requires the driver's license number, the last four digits of SSN or I-94, and ZIP code. If a Floyd ticket suspension exists, the Clerk produces an SR-16 after payment and sends it to BMV to clear the license.

CDL and DUI Traffic Records
Commercial drivers have stricter limits. Floyd County deferral qualifications exclude CDL holders, and Indiana law bars diversion or deferral for CDL holders in the cited context. DUI is listed by the Clerk as a required court-appearance violation. It should not be treated like a simple payable citation. Traffic expungement or sealing questions depend on the case type and result. If the traffic matter became a criminal conviction, the criminal expungement framework may matter more than the infraction payment record.
Crash Reports Are Separate
Crash reports are not the same as Floyd County traffic court records. A crash report is a law-enforcement report. A traffic court record is the citation or case file handled through the court and Clerk. Floyd Sheriff crash reports cost $8 in person or $12 online, and date and location help staff locate the report.
New Albany Police reports are generally available three business days after police submission. New Albany crash reports also cost $8 in person or $12 online. Those police records can support an insurance or accident question, but they do not replace the court record for a citation, plea, fine, deferral, or dismissal.
